WHAT WE MEAN BY LIVING DIALOG™
Americans are hungry for an enhanced quality of life, for deeper community, for endowing our communal life with spiritual significance. I believe that greater mastery of dialogue will advance our civility – and our civilization a giant step forward.– Daniel Yankelovich
The mind is a university where we learn to make sense of reality.
Living Dialog™ helps the mind to be receptive to God’s transformational presence. Minds mapped with God’s imprint direct a lifestyle that reflects God’s new creations.
This approach to dialog requires a particular environment. There are ways you can tell when you’re in that environment:
- Someone understands what you mean, or you understand what they mean
- There’s an exchange of ideas, thoughts and views that leads to probing
- Less effort to convince, more to discover
- Each person adds value to the discovery
- Instead of listening for who is right, people listen to find what is meant
- The community of those in dialog becomes a community in communion.
Living Dialog™ shares the meaning of Pentecost.
Valerie Carter described Pentecost as a unifying experience that transcends all barriers—an authentic connectivity with God, one another, and with the world in a mission of transformation and reconciliation. We tap into power that energizes, emboldens and generates a contagious witness to God’s grace.
